Indian (இந்தியன் इंडियन ఇండియన్) is the first film for AR Rahman with Kamal Haasan. The film was released in 1996. Directed by Shankar.
The team of AR Rahman and Shankar works again well resulting in hits of all five soundtracks of the film. The lyrics were written by Vairamuthu and Vaali.

When is Indian was dubbed in Hindi Shankar shot the whole sequence of a character acted by Manorama with Aruna Irani to give Hindi touch and also changed all Tamil banners in the backdrop to Hindi.
